How it works

Filter to what fits. Read the evidence. Compare what's left.

1

Set your constraints

Capital, skill and where you'd work. The engine shows only ideas you could realistically start, ranked for you.

2

Read the scorecard

Every idea carries two separate scores, ten comparable fields, a dated "why now" with sources, and the manual checks still required.

3

Compare three side by side

Put up to three ideas next to each other on identical fields, including against a typical UK business, before you commit a pound.

Why you can trust it

Designed to say no

  • The floor: nothing shown below 6/10 Opportunity or 5/10 Validation Depth. Ideas that fail are dropped, with the reason recorded.
  • Revenue figures are derived (price × reachable buyers), never asserted.
  • Capital is real cash to first customer, capped at £50k, with most ideas far below it.
  • Demand means money already spent or lost, never "people said they'd love it".
  • Imported ideas must pass the "why hasn't a UK person already done this" check, anchored to a foreign official source.

We show our working

Every published idea carries its manual-validation notes: the exact things we could not verify from our desk and you must check before acting. Dropped ideas go to a decision ledger with the reason, not quietly deleted.

Scores are produced by a structured expert-persona panel with adversarial review, against a published scoring framework. The raw sub-scores are recorded so a stretched score is visible.

Published by Fidesq Group Ltd, a UK company. Sources: ONS Business Demography, GOV.UK, named statutes and regulators, cited inline on every idea.

Where the ideas come from

Five sourcing lanes, one gate

Proven abroad, thin here

Models working at scale in the US, Australia and Europe that the UK underprovides. Each one needs a foreign official source and a clear answer to why the UK gap exists.

Newly possible in the UK

A dated barrier moved: a law commenced, a grant opened, a cost collapsed. The catalyst is named, dated and cited on every idea in this lane.

Established UK, rising

Conventional businesses whose demand or margins are genuinely improving. Same floor as everything else; flat and declining trades don't make the cut.

The benchmark library. Switch on typical UK start-ups (the café, the barber, the bookkeeping practice) to compare any idea against the ordinary alternative, graded on ONS survival, realistic owner take-home and current trading conditions. Marked "Opportunity not scored": a typical business has no dated catalyst to score.

Why one-off passes, not a subscription?

Choosing what to start is a decision with an end date, not a habit. You buy access while you decide, then you go and build. Nothing renews behind your back.

What does a pass include?

Every idea's full scorecard, the constraint filter, founder-fit ranking and side-by-side compare. The 3-month pass adds the archive, alerts and the living document packs.

When do passes open?

Passes are not on sale yet. Join the free email list and you'll be first to know, with founding-reader pricing honoured at these figures.

Refunds?

If a pass isn't useful in the first 7 days, email us and we refund it. The product only works if you'd recommend it.
